Monster Vault

Terms of use

Effective 11 October 2026

These terms are the rules for playing Monster Vault. By playing, you agree to them. They sit alongside Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies.

Monster Vault is made by LH Studio in New Zealand ("we", "us"). Questions: hello@leonardharvey.com.

1. Who can play

You must be 13 or older to play. Real-money purchases are only available to players aged 16 and over. The game asks only for your birth year, so to be safe it counts you as one year younger than the age you turn this year: you can play from the year after you turn 13, and buy from the year after you turn 16. If you are under 18, check with a parent or guardian before buying anything.

2. Your account

The game creates an account for you when you first open it. To keep your progress if you lose or replace your device, tap Sign in with Apple in Settings. If you play as a guest and delete the app, your progress cannot be recovered.

One person, one account. Do not share, sell or buy accounts.

3. Coins, gems, packs and cards

Coins, gems, packs and cards are part of the game. You get a licence to use them in Monster Vault; you do not own them, and they have no value outside the game. They cannot be exchanged for real money or anything else outside the game, and we do not buy them back.

Serial numbers and foil numbers show the order in which cards were made. Foil prints are limited: each foil edition of a card has a fixed number of prints, and once they are all made, no more of that foil will be printed in that edition.

We may change the game over time, including card abilities, prices, rewards and odds, to keep it fair and fun. If we ever shut the game down, we will give at least 30 days notice on this website.

4. Purchases

Purchases are made through the App Store and are handled by Apple. Prices are shown in the game before you buy. Gems and bundles are delivered as soon as Apple confirms the payment.

Refunds are handled by Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com. If a purchase is refunded, we take back the coins, gems and unopened packs it gave you, up to what is left in your balances.

Vault Pass. The Vault Pass is a monthly subscription sold through the App Store. While it is active you can collect a daily reward in the game (gems and a pack, as shown in the Store) and your packs open from the Vault Pass card back. Days you do not collect are not carried over. It renews automatically each month at the price shown when you subscribed, and payment is charged to your Apple Account, unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel at any time in your App Store account settings; the pass then stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. A Vault Pass belongs to the game account it was bought on; Restore purchases can move it to another of your accounts, and it then stops on the first one. If Apple refunds a Vault Pass, it ends straight away. Deleting your game account does not cancel the subscription with Apple, so cancel it first.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other consumer laws that cannot be excluded.

5. Packs and odds

Packs contain five randomly chosen monsters, and at least one is always Rare or better. The chance of each rarity is shown in the game (tap "See the odds" in the Packs tab or the Store) before you open or buy a pack. Every pack is opened on our servers, using the published odds and the two extras shown with them: your first pack always ends with an Epic or Legendary monster, and after 10 packs in a row with nothing new, the next pack includes a monster you do not own yet.

6. The market

The market lets players buy and sell cards with each other for coins. A 5% fee, rounded up to a whole coin, is taken from each sale. There are daily limits, price limits around each card's market price, and waiting periods before some cards can be sold.

You must not buy, sell or trade cards, coins or accounts for real money or anything else outside the game. We may cancel trades and remove items that come from cheating, fraud, bugs or refunded purchases.

7. Fair play

Do not cheat. That includes using bots or scripts, changing the app or how it talks to our servers, exploiting bugs, or making extra accounts to farm rewards. If you find a bug, please tell us at hello@leonardharvey.com.

If you break these rules, we may remove items, reset progress, or suspend or close your account. If we close an account for cheating, purchases are not refunded by us.

8. Ranked battles

Ranked battles match you with real players near your rating. If nobody is free within 15 seconds, the game puts you against a computer stand-in instead (you can cancel before it starts), always marked "(stand-in)". Leaving a battle early counts as a loss.

9. The service

Monster Vault needs an internet connection. We work to keep it running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of bugs. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from the game being unavailable, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the problem.

10. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the game or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and is not responsible for any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.

11. Changes and law

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will post it on this page at least 14 days before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
